“Everyday violence against women”
XVI INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS FOR THE STUDY OF VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN:
Seville, November 11th and 12th, 2025
The following guidelines are intended to facilitate the presentation of scientific and technical articles at the 16th International Congress for the Study of Violence Against Women, to serve as a guideline to achieve uniformity in the papers presented, and to facilitate their evaluation by the Scientific Committee of the Congress.
Theme: “Everyday violence against women”
The research presented must address gender-based violence, in accordance with the concept established in Law 7/2018, of July 30, which amends Law 13/2007, of November 26, on comprehensive prevention and protection measures against gender-based violence. All submitted works will be evaluated and selected by the Scientific Committee of the Congress based on the following criteria, with a maximum of 3 points awarded for each:
- Coherence and relevance of the work with the thematic area of the Congress.
- Originality of the topic and/or creative development in the way of approaching it.
- Conceptual rigor and methodological precision.
- Clarity of argumentation.
- Scientific-technical interest.
- Quality of the sources and documentary references used.
- Transfer of the topic addressed to professional performance.
The selected article of greatest scientific and technical interest will be awarded a prize, corresponding to the one with the highest score based on the indicated criteria. In the event of overlapping scores, the Scientific Committee will decide between the tied articles, with the casting vote of the Committee Chair, if necessary.
Selection:
Proposals will be selected based on the abstract submitted. Therefore, applicants are strongly encouraged to take special care in preparing and submitting their abstracts, in accordance with the guidelines contained in these guidelines.
Abstract presentation structure:
- Qualification.
- Authorship.
- Brief Curriculum Vitae (maximum 500 words).
- Institution where you work.
- Professional activity.
- Email.
- Phone.
- Keywords or descriptors: between 5 and 10 keywords in Spanish and English (in both languages).
If the organizers so decide, the winning presentations may be presented at an event that will take place after the in-person phase of the Congress, and which will be announced in due course.
The organization will inform you about the presentation details once the abstracts have been accepted.

Submission dates for article proposals:
From September 30th to November 28th , 2025 (abstracts and CVs).
Once reviewed by the Committee’s Standing Committee, you will be notified by email if your submission has been accepted. If no email has been received confirming acceptance of your submission, it will be deemed not to have been selected.
Once accepted, you must submit your complete submission, following the requirements and formats indicated below, by the dates indicated.
CHARACTERISTICS AND PRESENTATION FORMAT OF THE FINAL COMMUNICATION:
Language: The languages in which the communication may be submitted are Spanish, French, Portuguese, and English, without prejudice to the provisions regarding the presentation of the abstract.
Support: It must be submitted electronically in either .pdf or editable format (texts in .doc and .odt formats, and tables and graphs inserted in the text in xls, ods, etc.).
Style:
- Font and font size: NewsGotT – Size 12 – Regular.
- Font style: Normal except for the title or subtitle where bold will be used.
- Line spacing: 1.5 except for “notes”, “bibliography” and “figures”.
Tables and illustrations: They should be numbered consecutively, respecting the order in which they appear in the text, with Arabic numerals and independent of each other (e.g., Table 1, Figure 1). Tables should have a concise title. If explanatory text is required in a table, this should be included in a footnote. Illustrations should also be accompanied by a footnote or explanatory legend.

PRESENTATION, DEFENSE AND DISSEMINATION OF THE COMMUNICATIONS:
The presentation and defense of the winning proposals will take place at a public event following the Congress.
The specific time and order in which the presentations will be defended will be notified to the person concerned in advance.
The organisation may upload the selected proposals to the Congress website.
Likewise, if so requested, the proposals may be presented in a webinar over the online platform.
OBTAINING A CERTIFICATE:
The presentation and defense of the award-winning papers will take place, if the organizers so decide, at a public event following the conference.
Interested parties will be notified well in advance of the presentation and the specific presentation time. Papers accepted by the organizers may be posted on the conference website.
Obtaining Certification:
A certificate will be issued to those who have submitted a communication within five months of the end of the 16th INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS FOR THE STUDY OF VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN.
ACCEPTANCE OF THE BASES:
Submission of the paper constitutes acceptance of the call for proposals. The organization reserves the right to reject any submissions that do not comply with the rules and/or are received after the deadline.
